Every artist has a story to tell, but there’s only one SNOWE. Her story is to the modern music industry what Entourage is to television – almost unbelievable. Snowe herself is not forgettable – like a beat that lingers in your mind. Warm – like a voice so familiar you feel you’ve heard it a thousand times before – so fresh you wish you had. Funny – like a female Zach Galifianakis …umm, except different. Sexy – in a way you can’t quite put your finger on but just can’t get past. Born out of the American melting pot, she’s that tomboy next door. She’s like one of the crew you loved to kick it with, but now she’s in heels and all growed up. You are at the door of discovering an artist who defines a new generation of American pop. She possesses that “it factor”. Try to put her in a box if you like: “The next Alicia Keys…mixed with the innovation and boldness of Nicki Minaj.” “Edgy like Billie Holiday, truly original and imperfectly perfect.” But it’s best to experience her and judge for yourself…
Like the late great Michael Jackson, SNOWE was born in Indiana and was raised singing, dancing and acting on stage. She also had formative experiences traveling the country and internationally – including childhood years growing up on the Navajo reservation, school years in predominantly African-American neighborhoods and cross-cultural adventures in Germany, SE Asia and Africa. Built from these multi-cultural elements, with a belief that we can be anything, do anything, change any negative into a positive, leave a legacy of love and achieve greatness – SNOWE embodies authentic LUV. From her career’s infancy, she has supported causes of social justice and is devoted to working towards ending modern-day slavery and oppression.
SNOWE built her fan-base touring small and major markets alike. She kick-started her career from the NY/CT area as an R&B/Soul singer/songwriter touring the Northeast and quickly gained opportunities to perform for crowds of up to 40,000 in Southeast Asia, recording a song for Prime Minister Hun Sen. Some of her favorite experiences took place performing in Africa. She is an ASCAP award-winning songwriter, noted for her ability to emote experiences and stories with a conversational wit and soulful charm.
In 2009, SNOWE began to re-vamp her sound and teamed up with some of the nation’s hottest DJ’s and re-mix producers. She has recorded with producers such as Cassette Company, who have credits with Ben Harper, Kanye West and Common and Darius “Deezle” Harrison, co-producer of Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop, ” and packed out performances in premier clubs in NYC, Boston, SoCal, Vegas, Chicago, ATL, Miami and Nashville. She has also performed at national festivals such as SXSW and WMC and opened for national headliners, such as Sean Kingston and the New Boyz. This touring acclaim led to SNOWE gaining product support from internationally sought-after M.A.C. Cosmetics. SNOWE has most recently entered a period of “creative hibernation” – writing, recording and experimenting with the acoustic AND electronic sounds that make her unique. SNOWE plans to release a new project in the Fall or Winter of 2012/2013.
Most pop stars have been manufactured, but SNOWE brings the package deal to the stage organically. Whether behind the keys, a single mic or dancing out front with her B-Boyz, her stage presence is magical, leaving you with a natural high. Her ability to synthesize her influences into something raw and cutting edge, that in one moment can make you dance and the next bring you to tears, is what sets her apart. From classic R&B to 80’s hip hop, to the greatest torch singers of jazz and the most relevant of today’s pop stars, some of her influences include Stevie Wonder (her childhood hero whom she had the opportunity to meet in 2011), Michael Jackson, Gladys Knight, Prince, Paul Simon, Usher, Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Mary J Blige, NeYo, The Roots, and TuPac. The love she has for the artists who came before her and inspired her, have helped to birth an old soul in a beautiful, young body.
Why? Because their music became her best friend and a part of HER story. And any true artist has a REAL story to tell. Now it’s her turn to become a part of your story. Hello World, meet SNOWE.
